Whatever you believe to be true is true — even when all facts say it's not.

You developed that belief. You created it. You support it. You groom it.

I went to the movies when I was about 18.
Weeks later I drove 60 miles to swim across a lake in Oklahoma.

And I started hearing that movie theme playing in my head.

"Oh sh!t. Sharks."

I never in my entire life saw a shark. Except in a movie.

Logically I knew — there are no sharks in this lake.
But it didn't matter. My brain created a link that made it seem real and true.

You sitting on grandma's lap — listening to war memories. How people were killed. How they starved.

That little girl. That little boy. Internalizing those stories. Creating a world that's not so positive.

Memories aren't designed for proof or facts.
They're designed for survival.

A movie. A nightmare. A story your mother told.
You created it within you. It becomes your reality.

If you understand that — you can also change that.
