Your Brain Isn't Sensitive. It's Running a Memory.A therapist told her she was highly sensitive. That her brain works differently. I answer: most likely it is a trauma response.
Here is what I said next that is worth sitting with. You can be in a crowded room and feel completely alone. You can be sitting at the dinner table with people who love you and still feel alone. You can be next to your partner and feel alone. That is not who you are. That is a response. And every response comes from a memory. I had a horrible fear of public speaking. Could not do it. I did not fix it by practicing more or forcing myself into rooms. I cleaned up my history. I cleaned up the reactions as they came. And it changed. The overwhelm you feel around people, the way certain environments set something off inside you, may have nothing to do with how you were born. It may go back to a school hallway, a lunch table, a home where being noticed felt unsafe. The body is responding to what the mind learned a long time ago. Change those memories and the behavior changes with them. Root Cause Reset — April 12, 19, 26 and May 3, 2026. Four live Sundays. Three hours each. Lifetime replay access.
