They Know What Happened. But It's Not Real Anymore #shorts
They know what happened. But it's not real anymore.

For over 27 years I've worked with people with severe traumas.
Not just the little ones. The severe ones.
War memories. Death memories. Murder memories.
Rape memories. Incest memories.
Horrible beatings and abuses of all sorts.
When they come in — I help them adjust what created their problem.
How their brain internalized it. Translated it. Gave meaning to what happened.
I can help them without them ever telling me one word of it.
It's not knowing what happened.
It's knowing how they internalized the event.
And when they're done —
they know what happened.
But it's not real. Nor is it true today.
To the brain — bad and good are neutral.
No value. Just information. Organized. Spit out.
Both for survival. To keep you alive.
