You think about it logically. Why do we think the body keeps the score?

There's two parts of us. There is the conscious part, which most people are aware of, and there's the unconscious part. That's the smart part about us. That's the one that encodes the internal world. It knows how to drive without you thinking about how to drive. It knows how to walk across a floor. It knows how to write your name without going back to kindergarten trying to figure out how to do that. So the smart part about us is what we're not talking about.

They're talking about consciously — "I have a panic attack. I feel bad. Bad things are happening. I don't know what to do with it. It's the body making me feel bad." And so therefore, what we wanna do, and it's a natural part of our survival system, is to avoid the pain. And so we have a disruption, a pain, a frustration, a physical sensation, and we don't like it, so we're also blaming the messenger.

Now, the body is the messenger of the unconscious mind. Or I call it the intelligent idiot, the intelligent servant. It's a faithful servant.

And so the brain speaks to the body and also to the mind with images, intrusive thoughts, et cetera, to catch our conscious attention, and we're looking at the body — "I feel bad. I feel something gonna happen. I feel anxious. I feel nervous. I zone out. I check out. I numb out."

So we notice the problem kinesthetically, but we don't really understand why, because we're not really in alignment with the smarter part about us, which is your unconscious.
