About 18 years into marriage, things got really bad because of stuff we didn't know how to deal with. So I said, "We need therapy." We started finding therapists, and we found one using guided imagery, basically a style of hypnosis. I could see things were changing, and I wanted to study more, because I have a passion.
I wanted to help her. I thought if I solved her problems, my life would get better. That seems to be a theme in my life — if I can just solve their problems, my life gets better.
But once I learned tapping, I got to the point where I figured out that I married this woman, and she was supposed to fix me. And once I tapped that away — she can't fix me. How could she? She had her own problems.
I realized I'm responsible for my own healing, my own changes.
