A lot of our parents had abuses in their life. War-torn countries. Bad experiences.
They too were beaten. They too were abused.

And when they had you — they gave you the same training they went through.

So you grew up thinking, "What did I do wrong?"

You grew up feeling isolated. You freeze when things happen. Deer in the headlights.

"I better not do anything. Bad things are gonna happen."

You don't make decisions because you're afraid it's gonna be the wrong one.
And then you'll get in trouble again.

Or you try to be perfect so nothing bad will happen.
