Last month was horrible. This month I had no pain.
That was Nicole's update. And it is worth talking about why that happens because there is so much emotional programming wrapped around periods and menopause that most people never think to address.
The shame of the first time it happened at school. Nobody warned you. Nobody talked about it. You thought something was wrong with you. You thought you were dying. That memory does not just disappear. It gets filed. And every month the body comes back to what it learned.
With menopause there is grief. Loss of identity. Fear. "I am not going to feel like a woman anymore." "I am losing something." Even when she did not want more children, there is a feeling of something ending. And the body responds to all of it.
My wife used to have a full seven-day experience. She made an affirmation and practiced it with tapping consistently before that time of month. Two days. Easy. Done.
The brain has this amazing capacity to make things worse or to make things less. Breaking the emotional conditioning of our culture makes a real difference.
Natural things happen. And you can also change how the body responds to them.
Have you ever noticed your symptoms getting better or worse based on what was going on emotionally at the time? Tell me in the comments. 💬
