She walks with a walker, severe pain, had it for a long time. So she's laying there in bed and says, "I'm going to mimic what Robert did in class, by addressing her pain." So she did. She fell asleep.

Ten years later, she's at her doctor's office, and they're looking at her shoulder. He goes, "How much medication are you taking for the pain in your shoulder?" She says, "I don't take anything." He goes, "How are you not having pain? It's bone to bone." Pain's not there. The damage there, but the pain isn't there.

Most people may not realize that the body is an honest expression of unconscious resources. The brain is the master controller of pain and no pain. We look at John Sarno's work when he did the work with people who had knee pain. People who had damage in their knee, real pain, real damage. And then people who have no damage and real pain. And some people have damage and no pain.

Of course, when he did it, he did fake surgeries. He'd cut their knee open, sew it back up. No real surgery. And a good percentage of them had no pain. So what is the deal? Is the body the scorekeeper, or is it the brain?
