When I first started doing this work — if I go back, when I first started, probably when I was 15 years old, I left home to move in with my grandmother. Had nightmares, stuff going on inside my head. I wanted to kind of calm the demons.
It actually got worse every time I'd go visit my family, my dad, my mom. My mom left after I left. So I had this passion to try to solve my own head. I started studying, going to church — my grandmother tricked me to take me to church. Trying to sort my own head out.
I come from a very normal dysfunctional family. Probably like yours. There's no dysfunction within a dysfunctional family, you know that. It all works perfectly.
