At one of my first trainings, a woman shuffled like she was 90.

Her hands were swollen, painful, covered in welts.

She’d lived like that for 10 years.

When I asked her story, the truth came out.

Her daughter had been killed in a car accident.

The shock stayed.

The grief stayed.

And her body carried it.

We didn’t treat the hands.

We changed the memories her mind was still reacting to.

In under an hour, the swelling dropped.

She walked back to her seat... no shuffling.
