I asked for 22 happy memories. They didn't write anything down. 👉 Free Course: https://skillstochange.com/pages/get-started A lot of people come to see me with depression. I ask, "How do you know you're depressed?" "Because I feel it." "Do you have a good reason?" "I have lots of reasons." Then I ask, "Do you have any happy memories?" And they go, "I know there's gotta be something in here." In order to feel bad, you gotta have bad resources. So I tell them to buy a journal and write down 22 happy memories. They don't. I stop the session 15 minutes early so they can go buy one. They still don't do it. Why? It's violating the rules of life they internalized.
