All these concepts. Because it's beyond conscious awareness. Come to find out — it wasn't the energy in the house. It was the lights resembling her childhood. We cleaned it up. The lights didn't bother her anymore. And then it's gone. Did she consciously know why? No. The unconscious was linking things together. Neurons that wire together fire together. Ring the bell. Feed the dog. The brain links traumatic experiences with whatever you're focused on in that moment. Whatever you're feeling. Whatever senses are firing. A panic attack isn't there to harm you. It's all protection. When we don't understand the problem — we come up with all kinds of mystical reasons why we have it. The brain is just doing its job.
