As a social worker, you learn to blame your parents. I was good at it. I had clients for it. 👉 Free Course: https://skillstochange.mn.co/.../1872620 She came from Germany to Den Haag, where I live, with her husband for a weekend, for some days, and we had sessions every day. Because she believed that Jurgen, her husband, made it impossible to do all this. She realized that it was not her husband who made it impossible. And also yesterday, she said to me, "Do you remember?" And I can hardly remember how miserable I was. As a social worker, you learn all the time — you get good at it — to blame your parents, to blame the rest of the world, to repeat year after year what's wrong with yourself, with your life, with your family. And that's what I've been doing for years. And I was good in it. And I had clients for it. But that's the big change. I realized with doing this — that you can really, doesn't matter how horrible it was or who did it to you — you can forgive yourself and the rest of the world. And I'm happier and lighter, and I'm easier to myself and to people around me. So it's really worth it. Invest in yourself.
