She was diagnosed ADD. She was just worried about going home. 👉 Free Course: https://skillstochange.mn.co/.../1872620 I had a client. Her name was Patty. She talked about this in seminar publicly. She said, "Robert, you know I was diagnosed ADD or ADHD when I was a kid." "You know I couldn't learn. It was impossible for me to learn anything because every night when I got home from school, something naughty would happen to me." And so while she was in school — guess what she was worried about? Her focus had nothing to do with school. All through school she was focusing, worrying about what's gonna happen tonight when she gets home. How can she learn? And of course when you've been abused, one of the things abusees want to do is try to figure out how to be in control. Try to control the situation. Trying to figure out how to be in control. And so she had built this skill of trying to be in control of the crazy stuff that's happened in her life. So now she says, "What's really bizarre, Robert, is I'll go to the dentist and they're gonna give me 21 shots in my mouth and I still feel the pain." And you know why? Because she wanted to have control. She learned that she needed to be in control when she was a child because she didn't have any control. Some people — you just take a needle, go towards their mouth, their whole body's numb immediately before it even touches them. Others — it takes a lot.
