I've tried everything, and nothing's worked." And then they begin to tell me stories of everything that didn't work. I realize that he is very proud of his successes of everything not working. So I said, "Great. I would like to meet with you. But what I want you to do is I want a full list of everything that never worked for you and why you think it doesn't work." And then I said, "You're very successful at not having things work. You're very proud of it. You brag everywhere you go, and you go everywhere just to prove that you're really broken. Except for today." I changed all of his failures — and they were all successes.
