Robert Gene Smith has posted a YouTube video:
His name is Nigel. He survived being shot 6 times. Growing up — not just the environment outside the home. But inside. I was a scared little bunny. From the youngest I can remember — I was always on high alert. I had to spend my time making sure I wasn't gonna get physically hurt. I wasn't gonna get attacked. I had to turn into a people pleaser. I had to make sure everybody was safe. Because if they were safe and settled — I was gonna be settled. In the back of my mind was always this fear. If I tried to just relax — if I tried to let go — then something bad was gonna happen. I must've been walking about literally with a target on my back. Hypervigilant. My escape was to help other people. If I could distract myself by helping other people — have a sense of purpose. So I decided I would join the police. Serving people. Protecting people. Protecting myself. And the cycle continued. On the 20th of October, 1989 — I was in a police car. Sitting passenger with my colleague. He was driving into a small village in South Armagh. And we were ambushed. The stage was set. 👉 Free Course: https://skillstochange.com/.../
